Maryanne was born and raised in New Norfolk, Tasmania and has been influenced by the English atmosphere of the town and surrounds.
Her work is unique nd distinctive showing subdued sunlight emerging through cloud cover, mist-shrouded landmarks or fishing boats and yachts on lazy stretches or rippling water. Her most recent work reflects her travels through Europe, the United Kingdom and exploring Australia, with emphasis on rural scenes or Tuscany and the castles and churches of Scotland, Italy and England. She evokes an ethereal feel in her work, the softness of which attracts the viewer particularly to the moodiness of the skies.
Maryanne’s paintings have been sold widely within Australia as well as in the United States, Japan and the United Kingdom.
