About the artist

Damien and his wife Brenda have been creating their much-loved Australian animals since 1982. Renowned for his ability to capture the unique character and spirit of our wildlife and birds, Damien designs every work in accordance with the mallee root ”landscape” in which it will live, before he sculpts, textures and double fires each individual ceramic piece. The woods on which they sit have been cleaned, heat-treated and finally oiled by Brenda.
