Chris was born in Melbourne in 1983, the son of renowned artists Herman Pekel. From an early age Chris would accompany his father on painting trips around Victoria, often mimicking his actions in an attempt to grow into his image. His primary school days were spent drawing and paying little attention to anything else other than art and creativity. It wasn’t until 2006 at the age of 23 that Chris took up the arts seriously, enrolling in several life drawing and painting classes at the Victorian Artists Society. Since then he has quickly built up an impressive collection of spirited impressionist works, displayed in several galleries in both Victoria and Queensland. His first show was a group exhibition that completely sold out and his work has since been in high demand by lovers of quality impressionist painting.
